A key indicator, a sort of barometer of the atmospheric pressure applied and sustained by the mere presence of Antichrist during his period of rising, will be his supernatural effect over the financial and technologies sectors and the socio-religious stranglehold he will exert over the masses. The Word calls him the 'prince of the power of the air' (Ephesians 2:2) and the 'god of this world' (2nd Corinthians 4:4) showing the influence he will have over them that are not born again of the Holy Spirit through Christ Jesus - though there will be a number of cynics who will not fall for his ploy as they sit on the spiritual fence with regard to submitting to any lordship, even after the rapture. It is apparent though, that he will already be rising when calamity comes and the world turns to him for guidance.

We can form a fairly accurate view of the world in which Antichrist comes up ’out of the sea of people’ - a panorama of the social, political, religious, economical and ecological condition of the earth in which the Beast of Revelation finds the perfect opportunity to begin his meteoric ascent with the spiritual direction and power of Satan, but more specifically allowed by the providential hand of an omnipotent Creator, God.

World financial headlines of those days might look something like this:

‘ STATE HEADS ASSERT: WE NEED NEW LEADERSHIP TO SURVIVE CRISIS ’

‘ POWERS MULL OVER COMBINING CURRENCIES ’ - ‘ CRISIS WORST IN HISTORY ’

‘ BANKS CONSOLIDATE AS CURRENCIES FAIL ’ - ‘ WHERE'S OUR FINANCIAL SUPERMAN? ’

While the global economy is suffering a seemingly bottomless pitfall, social unrest will be brewing - one religion blaming another for the crimes of hate perpetrated by radicals against them. Fear will grip countries as famine, drought and other ecological disasters rage and tribes and peoples war against their neighbors because of skin color, genealogy, language or nationality.

The greed of men, due to their reliance on self rather than God, will be in maximum overdrive and bitter cynicism, a widespread disease of the heart. The Bible makes it clear that the love of most people will grow cold and this will be plainly seen in society at large and in the media products of this end time generation. Movies, music, video games and the like will all be me-centered as well as the hedonistic religious leanings of the masses. People will be looking for a way to feel good, inside and out, and chase after anything that promises temporal happiness with immediate gratification.

Drug use - both legal an illicit - will be at greater than epidemic proportions as people seek a release from their problems, yet each one will look down his nose at the other claiming his Prozac or Vicodin (or you name it) is necessary for health while the other's is a crutch and a sign of weakness. ‘Legalism run amuck’ isn’t too harsh a description of those who condemn others for doing publicly what they themselves do in darkness…a fitting picture of this Revelation generation.

Pornography will lace every inch of the public square and children will be inundated with sexual images in every facet of life; from television, radio, billboards, magazines and sports - to computers, yearbooks, children's clothing stores, etc. Many adults of this age will no longer be able to hide their lust and it will always take center stage. A generation who hasn't been taught self-control will find themselves burning with passion and entirely unable to keep from seeking out underage sexual prey on the internet and other public venues even though they know the consequences and may even expect to eventually be caught. Other's will search out the rush they get from forcible rape and may even see violence as a turn-on. Sexual deviancy will flourish as the heterosexual family unit begins to vanish, being replaced by every perverse substitute imaginable. No longer will sex be seen as a gift from God to the lawfully wed, rather the world will look at it as a right of all to perform as the please with whomever they choose...live and let die, as the Beatles once so peevishly and poetically proclaimed.

The weather patterns will be shifting and growing less stable and more unpredictable and, as the Bible says, the sea and the waves will be roaring and earthquakes will be seen in ‘diverse’ or widespread geological areas. With all of this activity it only makes sense that the waves will be ‘roaring’ since storms on the seas can grow into hurricanes - causing a great swelling of water that rushes ashore with the storm surge, and tsunamis created by undersea earthquakes can kill hundreds of thousands of people in a matter of minutes with unexpected walls of water upwards of 60 feet or more. Geotactic minutiae will grow more imbalanced and the shifting of plate tectonics will seem to be taking on a life of it’s own. Areas not prone to temblors will be shaken as a consequence and many will be in awe at quakes they experience that have never been felt in their location or in their lifetime. The weather pendulum will be swaying further and further in both directions with record cold winters and intolerable, sweltering summers.

Jesus forewarned, "As the days of Noah were, so shall the coming of the Son of Man be," and in those days piracy and terrorism was the way of the wild, wild west as nobody 'called onthe name of the Lord' and everyone 'did what seemed right in his own eyes'.

It is this unique mixture of social fragility, financial uncertainty, ecological lunacy and religious bankruptcy that will be the incubator for the rotten egg of evil, the imp of Satan - Antichrist - to quickly develop into a mighty leader. He will seize on the inability of spiritual discernment by the masses, and assert control over their minds and hearts by playing to their selfish desires, lack of faith, moral weakness, and ethical ineptitude and because of their desire to be accepted and validated no matter their moral failings, political correctness like a viral plague will infest their collective consciousness and most will fall victim to his cancerous charisma, being brought into the fold of his cult of personality. Unless they are pulled out of his grasp by the Holy Spirit Himself, these will be doomed to suffer an eternity in the lake of fire.

Now that I have expounded upon the Biblical references to the life and times of the Antichrist, I will pour out all that the Spirit tells me (through the Word of God and the gifts of discernment and prophecy) is possible with regard to the man whose coming has been foretold, the prince who is to come - the son of perdition...the Antichrist.

He will come up from a regular Joe background, not from wealth or promise, and will be street savvy among the impoverished, though the rich will see a great king in his simple elegance as he most assuredly will be the prince of political correctness and the troubadour of political poetry . His intelligence level will be quietly genius and calculated, and he will be persuasive in his speech and demeanor. Having the oratory skills of a Martin Luther King, the vitality of a John F. Kennedy, the spiritual prominence of Gandhi and the social ecumenism of Mother Teresa - while in his heart the hatred and narcissism of Adolf Hitler squirms, dying to leap forward. He will be calm though capricious, and as a chameleon, he will change his color to fit his surroundings. He will be a shape-shifter, coolly adapting to the changing tides and as smooth as Teflon with regard to them that oppose him. His ability to plan, organize and manipulate all things in his grasp will be greater than any that came before him, employing this talent with the grace of a slithering serpent. His predatory instincts will combine the stealth of a lion, the speed of an eagle, the strength of a bear, and the sting of a scorpion. With peace as his weapon of choice, he will destroy many and actually be able to convince the masses it was for the global good. His knowledge of the Bible will be rich but he will purposely misquote the Word of God in blasphemy, eventually using Scripture to point to himself as god incarnate. He will for a time, be able to reign in the fluctuating world markets and the earth will breath a great sigh of relief under his yoke, willingly accepting his plans to change laws and times as though he alone could bring the salvation nations seek from famine, drought, natural disasters and widespread disease and hunger. He will make people believe in their ability to bring about unity and prosperity with his vision for a final global utopia and in his arrogance and hardness of heart, he will use his influence to control heads of state and pseudo-religious leaders, causing the powers that be to strive for a hate free world where all sexual types, religions, races, nations and kingdoms come together as one...except for ‘those hateful Christians’ who will come to Christ after the rapture.

Does this describe the world in which we live? I think so. Is the Antichrist alive today? I believe he is. Has he taken power, yet? I think it is clear he has not reached the pinnacle, but if the world is ripe for this ruler - and, I see every sign that it is - it can't be much longer. Is there anyone who fits the description of the man of lawlessness in the forefront of politics today? You decide. Is there anyone you believe could follow in the basic pattern listed above? I think the world shall soon find out...at least those of us who aren't gathered to the Lord in the near future. Are you prepared for a new world. One in which the mere mention of God could find you separated from your head? I perceive that this time is much closer than most think. Well I am ready...to go home to Glory and 'escape all these things that shall soon come to pass'.

Praise God that He has sent His Son, Jesus Christ, as a ransom for those who will trust in Him and seek to know Him - to save them from the wrath to come.

The world is about to get exactly what it wants...or thinks it wants.
